Professional Goalkeeper Coach specialising in game-based goalkeeper development, tactical integration, decision-making under pressure and video-driven learning.
"I wanted the next goalkeepers to have what was missing for me."
— Panagiotis Pomonis · Sport FM, April 2026
Panagiotis Pomonis never had a goalkeeper coach when he needed one. He was goalkeeper, trainer, analyst and psychologist — all in one. He made a decision in 24 hours: to become what he never had.
From youth development at Juventus Academy Athens to the heart of Greek professional football — Kifisia, AEL, Kalamata — his career has been built entirely on merit. 6 titles in 6 years. No shortcuts.
His method is built on one conviction: the goalkeeper must be a tactical player inside the game — not a shot-stopper waiting at the back. Every session starts from match demands. Every drill ends with a decision.
"I develop goalkeepers who read the game one action ahead, recognise the immediate danger and make better decisions under pressure."
The goalkeeper's decision is always connected to four references: the ball, the space, the opponent and the teammates. The objective is to recognise the immediate danger early enough to act one step ahead of the game — through perception, positioning and a shared language with the team.
Technology is used to support the coaching process — not to replace it. Video, data and positional references help connect training behaviours with match demands.
Worked with Souloukos during his Best Goalkeeper of Super League 2 season at AEL FC — the highest individual award for a goalkeeper in Greek second-tier football.
Worked with Anagnostopoulos during a league-leading 19 clean-sheet season at Kifisia FC. Subsequently transferred to Olympiacos FC.
Speaker at the 5th Football360 Summit (OTE Academy, Athens). Presented on "The Goalkeeper Inside the Game" — covering match conditions, shared language and tactical integration with the team structure.
